Novel ini aku beli di awal tahun 2019, tapi baru kelar aku baca dua hari yang lalu. Alur ceritanya sangat bagus dan mudah untuk dipahami. Salah satu latar yang diambil di novel adalah Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser TNGL yang berada di Kutacane, Aceh merupakan ibu kota Kabupaten Aceh Tenggara. Meskipun termasuk bagian dari Provinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, Kutacane lebih dekat diakses dari Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara dibandingkan dari Kota Banda Aceh. Dari Medan bisa dicapai dengan waktu 6-8 jam perjalanan melewati Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara. Kutacane merupakan dataran tinggi dengan ketinggian mdpl dan dikeliling barisan pegunungan Tentu saja itu sangat dingin bagi sebuah kota Singkil, Aceh Singkil menjadi titik awal perjalananku beserta tim menuju Kutacane. Berhubung si sopir tidak menguasai jalan tersebut, akhirnya kami memilih rute yang melalui Kabanjahe, Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Juga Sepotong Kisah Sedih dari Ereveld KalibantengBanyak orang bilang bahwa perjalanan itu lebih seru dibandingkan destinasi atau tujuannya. Itulah yang aku alami dalam perjalanan panjang ini. Untuk menuju Kutacane, lama waktu perjalanan yang dibutuhkan lebih dari 6 jam perjalanan dengan keluar dari Provinsi Aceh menuju Provinsi Sumatera Utara kemudian masuk Provinsi Aceh lagi. Perbedaan yang mencolok dari kedua provinsi adalah tentang kualitas jalan di kedua provinsi. Provinsi Aceh memiliki kualitas jalan yang bagus dan lebar dibandingkan Provinsi Sumatera Utara yang memiliki kualitas jalan yang buruk dan sempit. Kondisi jalan ini bahkan menjadi bahan bercanda di antara para sopir kami. Dalam perjalanan menuju Medan dari Aceh Tamiang, Pak Agus, salah satu sopir kami bilang jika nanti kita memasuki jalan yang sempit dan macet, berarti kita sudah memasuki Sumatera Utara. Hal itu sesuai dengan yang beliau sampaikan. Ketika memasuki Sumatera Utara, kami langsung disambut oleh jalan yang sempit, dan arus lalu lintas yang Sinabung yang dilihat dari BerastagiDalam perjalanan menuju Kota Singkil, Pak Samsul, salah seorang sopir kami berhenti untuk istirahat di sebuah warung yang ada di Kota Subulussalam, Aceh yang terletak dekat dengan gapura perbatasan Sumatera Utara dan Aceh. Di seberang warung terdapat sebuah kolam penampungan air yang biasa digunakan para sopir untuk mencuci mobil, motor, atau truk mereka sebelum memasuki Kota Subulussalam, Aceh. Si sopir cukup memasukkan uang di kotak yang telah disediakan. Tidak ada nominal pasti. Seikhlasnya seusai keinginan si sopir.“Sebelum memasuki Aceh, mobil kita mesti bersih dari debu dan kotoran yang terbawa dari Medan.” Kelakar Pak menunggu mobil dicuci, aku memesan kopi di sebuah warung tersebut. Aku terlibat obrolan santai dengan seorang sopir truk pembawa minyak kelapa sawit mentah yang kebetulan sedang makan. Sopir truk yang mengetahui aku dari Jakarta, dia mulai cerita tentang banyak hal. Mulai lambatnya pembangunan di Sumatera Utara, kualitas jalan yang buruk, hingga semakin mahalnya harga pokok. Sedangkan penghasilannya tidak mengalami kenaikan. Bahkan terkadang mesti nombok untuk operasional truknya. Sopir yang berasal dari Sibolga ini bercerita dengan sangat bersemangat, mungkin malah terdengar seperti orang marah-marah. Dia bilang jika logatnya memang seperti itu, terdengar seperti orang yang marah-marah. Aku hanya mendengarkan dan memperhatikan dia bercerita. Seperti biasa, aku lupa menanyakan namanya. Setelah mobil selesai dicuci, aku pamit meninggalkan sopir truk Juga Sepotong Cerita dari KatinganSaat itu di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara sedang musim durian. Banyak penjual jualan di sepangjang jalan. Bisa dibilang hampir setiap hari aku bisa makan durian. Dalam perjalanan menuju Kutacane, kami berhenti di lapak seorang pedagang durian. Pedagang itu menjual durian yang berasal dari kebun duriannya yang berada di belakang lapaknya. Kami membeli 9 buah durian yang dijual dengan harga Meski ukurannya tidak terlalu besar, namun rasanya sangat lezat dan tidak mengecewakan. Temanku yang tidak suka durian hanya bisa melihat kami yang makna durian dengan lahap. Kami puas dengan durian yang disajikan. Tentunya juga merasa senang karena bisa membantu perekonomian warga durian dalam perjalanan menuju KutacanePerjalanan dari Sidikalang menuju Kabanjahe melewati jalan perbukitan yang masih hijau dan asri. Jalanan saat itu sangat sepi, dan berkelok-kelok dengan udara segar. Aku membuka jendela mobil agar udara segar masuk ke dalam. Sesekali terlihat Danau Toba. Biru dan seolah-olah menyapaku untuk singgah. Aah, ini bukan waktu yang tepat untuk singgah. Mungkin lain waktu aku singgah. Pemandangan sepanjang perjalanan sangat teduh, namun kami tidak bisa berhenti untuk menikmatinya. Di jalan juga banyak rumah makan yang menjual Babi Panggang Karo BPK. Menu makanan dengan bahan daging babi ini sangat terkenal, khususnya bagi masyarakat Batak dan Kabanjahe, perjalanan menuju Kutacane masih memerlukan waktu sekitar 3-4 jam perjalanan. Jalan yang akan dilewati merupakan jalan yang berkelok-kelok melewati deretan pegunungan. Dalam perjalan itu, aku bisa melihat aktivitas Gunung Sinabung yang sedang erupsi. Erupsi Gunung Sinabung bisa dibilang sangat lama. Banyak warga masyarakat mesti dievakuasi dan hidup di tempat tiba di Kutacane pada petang hari. Kedatangan kami langsung disambut udara dingin dan rintik hujan. Kami mesti mengecek lokasi yang akan kami gunakan untuk keesokan harinya.
